TASK and Links to youtube videos

You are to write a blog post about yesterday's performance of The Lion King. You could talk about:

  • How you felt before it - nervous, excited etc
  • How you felt during the perfomance, as it was happening.
  • How you felt at the end, when all the parents clapped and told you how much they enjoyed it.
  • If you were scared before the show, how did that feeling change during and after the show?
  • Did you enjoy it?
  • Would you do it again?
  • Have you learnt anything from it?

If you go here http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXUFYt-4eEMK6gfOTsfH6ZQ, you will be able to see the videos from yesterday's performance of the Lion King uploaded to youtube.

You can use pictures from flickr as well by going here- http://www.flickr.com/photos/71961694@N04/sets/72157634607887948/. Photos of The Lion King and the trapped bird we rescued are ON PAGE 2 (at the bottom of the page)!!

Remember how to insert photos? Here....

Please use these in your blog posts.

Instructions for Thursday, 25th July

Write a post about The Lion King.

Think and write about....

The rehearsals - how have they gone? Were they tiring, fun, confusing.....?
Learning your lines - was this difficult? Did you understand what you were saying? What is your character like?
Have you enjoyed doing the play? - what do you think about the story and songs? Are they fun to perform? Have you found it easy to act and work with others?
How do you feel about today's performance? - are you excited, nervous, anxious, scared....? Why?

Try to put your words into paragraphs - each time you talk about a new time, place, topic, idea, concept or person, take a new paragraph!

Make sure you have also inserted a photo into it as well.

Student blog of the day...

This has to be Adolfo's Da Dubstep blog.

I currently teach Adolfo (he is about to go into year 10) and had done blogging with them last year. Adolfo has managed to take the skills he learnt last year and develop them into his new blog.

I'm sure you'll agree; the results are outstanding!

Well done Adolfo!

Mr Gibb

The blog can be found at: http://dadubstep.blogspot.com.es/.

As part of English and ICT for the past two weeks, we have been learning about blogging and creating our own. Most pupils have chosen to create their own blogs, with a few choosing to pair up with another pupil. To the right of this post, you will see all the different stundents' blogs.

I have asked Patti to email all the parents of the green group, asking them to visit the pupils' blogs.

If you could please view a few different blogs and leave a comment for them, that would be amazing. It allows pupils to feel that they have a 'real' audience reading their blogs and engaging with what they are saying.

Many thanks for your support,
Mr D Gibb.

Tasks for Monday, 22nd July.

You are to do the following in today's lesson...

1. Use your blogger account to write a blog post. This should be about what you did at the weekend. Make sure you only call people by their first names and do not write their full names (so, for example, mention Juan, NOT Juan Moreno....).
2. Insert a youtube video into it (see link below)
3. Decide which you find better and easier to blog with: blogger or edublogs.
4. Write a blog post, in your favourite blogging platform (blogger or edublogs), about which one you prefer.

Think about the following:

Which one do you find easier to use? Why?

Which one do you think is easier to create blog posts with? Why?

Which one looks better (is better laid out)? Why?

Which one has more features? What features does your chosen platform (blogger or edublogs) have that the others don't (for example, embedding youtube videos, widgets, images etc).

YOUR Blogs

I have created a blogger account for everyone who has an edublogs account. Your task is to now evaluate which platform (edublogs or blogger) you find better to use.

These are the following addresses for your blogs. Please visit and comment on each other's as well!

http://alvaroaygues.blogspot.com.es/ - Alvaro
http://ipadme2.blogspot.com.es/ - Regina (or Jimena!)
http://supercoolstuff2013.blogspot.com.es/ - Regina (or Jimena!)

Summer School Pics

Flickr Set

By clicking here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/71961694@N04/sets/72157634607887948/, you will be able to access all of the photos from Summer School. Watch the short video below to show you how to put them into your blog post.

GreenGroup Blog

Welcome to the blog of the GreenGroup. As you can see, pupils are working individually or in pairs. The aim is for them to blog about Summer School and anything else they have an interest in.

They are expected to find information (essentially research) from different websites. For example, if they are writing about football, they might find information on the English version of Marca.

Please comment on pupils' posts. It is great for them to see that they have a real audience and encourages them to write better. Feel free to comment on any posts.

Pupils will also be taking and uploading photographs of summer school, so you can see them hard at work!

Mr Gibb.
